With the release of their self titled EP, Meach Pango bring a new feel to a classic genre. Lush with classic progressions, aggressive but heart-felt vocals, and an alternative edge, the record boasts the aesthetic of indie rock anthems. Although the songs are diverse from one another, there is a glue that holds it all together much like a concept album would. Most importantly, the record never loses sight of the emotional platform great songs are built from.

The first single, “For Me & You”, is an instant pop rock classic. Complete with a very straight forward lyrical style, powerful choruses, and guitar catchy hooks, the songs seems to build and breathe as it plays on.

“The song is like the conversation you have with yourself right before a breakup. You hope for the best in both parties but you know the outcome isn’t going to be the way you want it to be. It reflects the rest of the EP by standing on its own. Our EP has a lot of different sounds, we wanted to keep the sound pretty broad and have room to play around.” explains vocalist Alex Mackenzie of the bands single.

Although the single does speak volumes for the record, to get a real understanding of where Meach Pango are coming from, it should be heard in its entirety.

“The single was the first song we wrote that was fully realized in one session. Our first few songs needed a lot of work but this one was the first in a sense where we knew what we wanted to write and were able to make it happen immediately. We bring a new spin on a classic alternative sound. A gloomy sound but we fun edge to it. We want to bring back an authentic style with our music, a genuine sound.” says the band of the EP and songwriting approach.

Meach Pango was formed after Alex Mackenzie and Tony Coffman left their previous band. It wasn’t long before they recruited Jorge Marquez on bass, drummer Clayton Gaskamp, and Keyboardist Nathan Siegel for a full line up. Starting with their focus on playing cover songs, the boys slowly worked into writing original material and began performing them live. Once they had a solid set, they decided it was time to record them. It was then that the Meach Pango EP was born.

The band has already been featured on music blogs like The Ghost of Blind Melon as well as podcasts like Thx For Nothing, and have already begin the process of writing new songs for their next release.

The Self Titled EP is now available for streaming and downloads on most major digital outlets and the band planning upcoming shows for later this year as they complete the album in full.
